Off to a flying start….

I think I made it into 2007

The year ended on a very pleasant note with a very traditional cocktail party in Double Bay on the 30th December.

New Year's Eve was spent in Green Point whilst Sydney's C-listers (as the Sydney Morning Herald gleefully pointed out) enjoyed Clover's party at the Opera House.

We watched Sydney's pyrotechnic prowess coming every now and then over the horizon from some 60 km down south.

The first few days of 2007 were spent tidying up those 2006 things which carried the label …can be done over Christmas… And whilst I would not bet my bottom dollar on the fact that this clean up has been 100% successful, at least I can, with some confidence, declare that I have now joined the rest of the world in 2007.

Talking about bottom dollar. The scraping of the bottom of the barrel is in full swing. For that reason it was most welcome that some clients have decided to get back into business very early in the new year. Can't remember a year where we had three contracts confirmed in the first week of January!

If that were a sign of things to come, 2007 might turn out to become a bumper year.

As far as travel is concerned – which happens to be a significant part of my life – 2007 will be the year for a Qantas point splurge.

As far as destinations are concerned, Germany, Uganda and USA are very likely
Meribel for a week of skiing would be a big bonus. A long held dream would be a return to Brazil.

I'll let you know later.

Now, let 2007 roll on.
